Directions to Jinlye... scroll down for map.

  • From Shrewsbury:

Take the A49 south towards Ludlow and Leominster and follow the road for around 10 miles.

After the village of “Leebotwood” (around 1 mile) take the turning right onto the B5477 which is signposted to “All Stretton”.

Follow this road into All Stretton village (around 1 mile). As you enter the village, you will see a red telephone box on your right hand side, where you should turn right onto “Castle Hill” (there is a brown tourist sign directing you to "Jinlye Guest House").

Follow this road which is steep and winding for 1 mile (although it seems much further) and Jinlye is on the left hand side.

  • From Ludlow:

Take the A49 north towards Shrewsbury and Church Stretton.

At Church Stretton traffic lights, you will turn left into “Town Centre” and follow this main street to the top. At this staggered crossroads junction you will see “Lloyds Bank “ and “HSBC Bank” on your left.

Turn right and follow this road (around 2 miles) into “All Stretton”. The Yew Tree Pub is on your left hand side... continue following the road and you will see a red telephone box on your left. Take the turning left here onto “Castle Hill” which immediately swings right then is steep and winding for one mile (although it seems much further!). Jinlye is on the left hand side near the summit of this road.

Please note the Google map below is not accurate - continue along Castle Hill past the location of the pin flag shown here and we're on your left. Also, if you are using a SatNav, you may also need to continue past the point where you are told "you have reached your destination". Technology is great, but can't really handle wild open spaces like the Long Mynd!
